As self-taught painter and sculptor, I developed my wood carving skills at Saint-Jean-Port-Joli’s École de sculpture in 1975–1976. I started teaching there and then taught at the Maison des métiers d’art de Québec for 16 years. I am as comfortable with paint or wood as I am with clay or synthetic resins. I frequently use these mediums together if It proves necessary for my creations. Through my art, I strive to show the human in all dimensions: either the human at work, the human behind the mask, or the human in its own imagination. If I want to live, I need to create! It is my breath: the air oxygenates my lungs and creating oxygenates my brain.
I am proud to participate in my community’s efforts to unite various artistic practices. Our region will be known for artistic expression in all its forms.
