Portrait of Paul Morin

I was born in a small, Village in the Matapedia Valley, surrounded by forest. Without a doubt it is for this reason that I love to showcase what nature has to offer. I learned my profession from Denys Heppell, and later at Saint-Jean-Port-Joli’s École de sculpture. Intervening as little as possible and favouring simple shapes, I sculpt various woods and sea ivory, which comes from sturgeon bones. I also work with ice and snow.

For about 50 years, nourished by the creativity of artists and artisans in my village of St.-Jean-Port-Joli I’ve sculpted cattails, flowers and different animals.. These art objects sometimes have a utilitarian aspect. Unique and customizable, my creations are bought by individuals and also by companies that wish to offer an original corporate gift. My sculptures have travelled throughout Quebec and Canada for various exhibitions.
