Description
This bronze horse was first sculpted in styrofoam by Armand Robitaille and this model was almost forgotten over the winters spent in a box at the very bottom of the workshop, before its creator finally found, in winter 2020, a foundry able to rise the challenge.
Indeed, this piece presents several technical challenges, including the thinness and the length of the legs, difficult to cast in bronze. We can say that this challenge was rise thanks to the tenacity of Armand and the knowledge of the bronze workshop at Inverness.

The artist
Armand Robtaille
Sainte-Louise
Trained at Saint-Jean-Port-Joli’s École de la Sculpture, I initially expressed my creative desire through traditional sculpture. Then, my style quickly refined itself. Inspired by expressionism, Art Deco and the designing of furniture and toys, I’ve always felt the need to invent objects. My greatest realization is probably a windmill with no weight limit (water-spinning turbine). This environmental sculpture is the result of 25 years of research.
I’ve always been passionate about using my sensibility, my imagination and inventiveness to conceive pieces. It’s like I have a chronic illness: I must create, invent and build a new world. Le Vivoir offers me this possibility. I am delighted to be part of it in this region where artists abound.
