Portrait of Pierre Laliberté

Pierre is from Sorel in Montérégie, but it was in Beauce, in Saint-Georges, that he spent his childhood before settling in Saint-Romuald at the age of 14. Difficult adaptation, he turns to the arts, drawing in particular, to express himself and discover who he is. This interest in art, and henceforth painting, has continued to grow and gain in importance. He studied plastic arts at the CÉGEP de Sainte-Foy and obtained his BAC in visual arts at Laval University. He quickly devoted himself to his art with, in parallel, a so-called food job which allowed him to settle in his first studio on rue Latourelle in Quebec. He paints there with all the passion that inhabits him. Despite the low income, he finds a way to save money to travel and visit the great museums and galleries on the east coast.

Now based in Lévis, where he is also involved in the cultural life of the region, he paints full time in his studio behind the house.
