Nature is my primary source of inspiration and reflection. I am fascinated by the effects of wind on water and frost on vegetation. All these natural phenomena inscribe their own trajectory in the material, a bit like embossing. It is also one of my favorite techniques. This process allows me to leave a trace of it in the white of the paper in addition to playing with three-dimensional effects.
The use of handmade paper, such as Saint-Gilles paper, significantly influences my creative process, which is intended to be influenced by the increasingly difficult conditions to which the environment is subjected as well as by the upheavals brought about by global warming.
This is how, as an engraver artist for over 30 years, I never stop exploring and experimenting. In the meantime, it was at the Atelier de l’île de Val-David that I gained my stripes in printmaking thanks to a training that complements my Bachelor of Arts degree well.
Since then, I have had the pleasure of participating in several individual and group exhibitions across the country, including some in Quebec City, British Columbia and Ontario, as well as internationally, in Japan, Belgium, Argentina, Romania, Cuba, Denmark and Finland.
